The club was founded in 1984 at the initiative of the Municipality of Cervia and local tourism businesses, to add golf to the seaside and sports tourism of Cervia and Milano Marittima.
When the Italian Open came to Cervia in 2024, Germany's Marcel Siem won at 274 (10 under), beating Tom McKibbin in a playoff.

The club says that after converting all 27 holes to Bermuda grass from 2008, following years of on-site trials, it cut pesticide use to zero and noticeably reduced water consumption.
The Red nine (1986, Marco Croze) runs through an untouched stretch of the old coastal pine forest, a short walk from the sea and from the centre of Milano Marittima.

The three nines are built in different styles: Red is pinewood golf, Blue (1987) is ringed by lakes in the manner of American courses, and Yellow (2004, Baldovino Dassù with Alvise Rossi Fioravanti) is inspired by Scottish links.

From summer 2008 all 27 holes' fairways and tees were converted to the Riviera variety of Bermuda grass, mown every two days to 10 mm and overseeded with perennial ryegrass in autumn for winter colour.
The club says the mild climate of the Adriatic Riviera allows golf all year round.

Third nine (Yellow, links-inspired) added, taking the club to 27 holes.

A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
