Asked in 1992 only to advise on bunkering, Pat Ruddy urged the club to build a second links on its 400 acres before new conservation planning laws closed the door; the club won a £315,000 grant, construction began on 7 May 1993 and Glashedy opened on 3 August 1995.

Glashedy staged the 2018 Irish Open, announced on the final Sunday of the 2017 event, and Russell Knox won it after beating Ryan Fox in a playoff.
The links (pronounced "Glasheedy") is named after Glashedy Rock offshore, Ballyliffin's equivalent of Turnberry's Ailsa Craig.
Ballyliffin, off Tullagh Point on the Atlantic edge of the Inishowen Peninsula, is Ireland's most northerly golf club.
In the early years members brought their own lawnmowers to cut greens and tees before playing; the habit of voluntary effort became known as the "Spirit of Ballyliffin".

The Glashedy stretches beyond 7,200 yards with nine par 4s over 400 yards, and its fairways were deliberately smoothed among the dunes; its routing intertwines with the Old Links.
The shortest and most dramatic hole on the course, a par 3 played from a tee some 100 feet above the green.

A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
