Black Desert is billed as Tom Weiskopf's final design, laid through a black lava field below red cliffs.

The 2024 Black Desert Championship was the first PGA Tour event in Utah since the 1963 Utah Open Invitational, and GCSAA says it was the first tour event where the course used robotic fairway mowers.
Holes 2 and 8 share a double green set in a lava field.
The par-3 3rd has a bunker in the middle of the green, a nod to the 6th at Riviera.
Tom Weiskopf modelled the 13th's green, on a lava-ringed knob, on Pebble Beach's 14th, and the 18th's green on Augusta National's 5th.
The course is cut through black lava flows below vermilion cliffs, with views from the 9th and 15th into Snow and Padre canyons.

In 2024 the fairways were mowed due north and south whatever the hole's direction; in 2025 they switched to a diamond pattern.

Every value is shown as recorded in GNN's tour-course research (profiles, championship history, the tour's visits since 2017, stories, details and course changes, each with its sources). A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
