When Conway Farms opened on August 3, 1991, founder Margaret Hart cut a ribbon between two trees, a bagpiper led fifty members onto the course and sand imported from Scotland was poured.
Jim Furyk shot 59 in the second round of the 2013 BMW Championship, the sixth 59 in PGA Tour history, breaking Luke Donald's course record of 61.
The club takes its name from a 1956 farm purchase by three Lake Forest families: the farm straddled a stretch of old Conway Road.
The club lists walking the course and fast play among the golf traditions its members are expected to uphold.
Tom Fazio's course, opened on August 3, 1991, is laid out on 209 acres of former cornfields and horse trails in a design built around Scottish links traditions.
The PGA Tour and DP World Tour weeks at this course since 2017.

Every value is shown as recorded in GNN's tour-course research (profiles, championship history, the tour's visits since 2017, stories, details and course changes, each with its sources). A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
