Next to the course is a spot called Mule Jail. The name dates from the Civil War, when locals hid their horses and mules on high ground by the Pearl River so Union soldiers could not take them.

The Sanderson Farms Championship moved from Annandale to the Country Club of Jackson in autumn 2014, early in the 2015 season.
The club opened in 1914 on a Tom Bendelow course five miles west of downtown Jackson; in the late 1950s it bought 400 acres north-east of the city and hired Dick Wilson for the course that opened in the early 1960s.
The championship 18 is the Dogwood and Azalea nines of the club's 27 holes, redesigned by John Fought in 2008-09 to play from 5,100 to 7,400 yards.

Members asked for a Golden Age feel, so Fought reworked the course in a Donald Ross style, with smallish, tricky greens of 5,000 to 8,500 sq ft.

The third nine, Cypress, is run as an "Open Family Nine" and the club keeps a junior course built to US Kids yardage and par guidelines, with real tee boxes for each age.

A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
