The 2020 Irish Open was due at Mount Juliet in May but was postponed by the pandemic; quarantine restrictions on travel into the Republic then forced the European Tour to move it to Galgorm Castle.
Sir Faithful Fortescue commissioned Galgorm Castle in 1618 on land that had been the McQuillan clan's ancestral home; the 220-acre estate now holds the course.
The castle looming over the 10th green dates from 1618, commissioned by Sir Faithful Fortescue, on an estate that was the ancestral home of the McQuillan clan.
The 177-yard par-3 14th; locals say to "aim at the Slemish Mountains on the horizon", as anything long or right ends in the river.
The 141-yard par-3 7th requires a carry over water from tee to green.
The parkland is bordered on two sides by the rivers Main and Braid; the Braid races past the front of the short par-4 4th green, and four fairways were raised during construction against flooding.
The PGA Tour and DP World Tour weeks at this course since 2017.

Every value is shown as recorded in GNN's tour-course research (profiles, championship history, the tour's visits since 2017, stories, details and course changes, each with its sources). A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
