Milano first hosted the Italian Open in 1951 and has staged it at least nine times, more than any club except Villa d'Este. Francesco Molinari won it at 262 in 2016, and Tyrrell Hatton won the 2017 Rolex Series edition at 263 (21 under).

The 27 holes wind through the woods of Monza's Royal Park (Parco di Monza), almost 700 hectares and described as the largest historic European park entirely enclosed by walls.

Mature trees isolate each hole so completely that, reviewers note, the only sound of the outside world comes from the neighbouring Monza racetrack when it is running.
The 1958 clubhouse, considered one of Europe's finest, replaced the club's original hunting lodge; the third nine was added at the same time.

Every value is shown as recorded in GNN's tour-course research (profiles, championship history, the tour's visits since 2017, stories, details and course changes, each with its sources). A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
The routing and ground are drawn from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). The clubhouse is drawn by GNN from reference photographs; the photographs stay private.
