In May 2026 the DP World Tour played in Kitzbühel for the first time, the Austrian Alpine Open having moved on from Gut Altentann as planned. Japan's Kota Kaneko won at 262 (18 under), two shots clear of Davis Bryant and Ricardo Gouveia, in a field that included Austria's eight highest-ranked players.

Once the event was awarded, the course added eight new tees, reshaped fairways, built five new fairway-bunker areas and turned the steep 6th from a par 5 into a par 4. The DP World Tour's agronomy team signed off on the work the autumn before, and a new par-3 18th was set up as a stadium finish.

The par-3 7th, known as the "Mausefalle" (mousetrap), looks across to the Streif downhill and the Hahnenkamm, and was billed as the course's signature hole for the 2026 Austrian Alpine Open.

The short par-3 5th plays 34 metres downhill, a drop the tour players had to factor into club selection; the 6th climbs steeply back up.

On the club's routing, water from the Ache stream sits in front of the 18th green, and the club says the closing six holes often decide its tournaments.
The club allows one dog per flight on the course if it is registered in advance.
The course lies by the Schwarzsee lake with the Wilder Kaiser range in view; the 400-metre temporary driving range built for the 2026 tour event faced it.

A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
