The tournament course combines two of the club's three nines: Harry Colt's West and South (opened 1915), not Robbie Robinson's 1973 East nine.

The 3rd hole on the West nine plunges into a valley crossed by a meandering stream, one of the dramatic valleys the club calls the canvas for its best holes.
A nine-hole short course opened in 2011 copies Colt ideas, including Royal Portrush's 16th "Calamity" and Pine Valley's short 10th.
The club still runs a caddie programme, as it did more than a century ago, staffed by local teenagers aged 12 to 17.

Every value is shown as recorded in GNN's tour-course research (profiles, championship history, the tour's visits since 2017, stories, details and course changes, each with its sources). A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
