Lake Karrinyup went into recess in December 1941 and was handed to the armed forces for the rest of the war, used mainly as a training establishment for the Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force, which paid almost 700 pounds a year in rent.

Part of a chain of freshwater lakes and wetlands, the course had 60 bird species in a 1999 Birds of Australia Atlas survey by Derek Lawson; later member sightings raised the count to 78.
The club counts about 20,000 trees of more than 100 species inside its boundaries; a volunteer group, the Men of Trees, cares for them with the course superintendent, continuing the work of the late member Bevan Campbell.
The 507 m par-5 3rd is played along the lake, set on a perfect diagonal, so a drive hugging the water earns a flat stance and a shorter second while bunkers on the right catch those who bail out.

The par-5 11th has a bunker in the middle of a wide fairway, which the club notes is rare in Australia (citing the 12th at Kingston Heath), before a steeply uphill second.

The 135 m 12th, a drop-shot par 3 that plays anything from a wedge to a knock-down mid iron depending on the wind, has the smallest green on the property.

Every value is shown as recorded in GNN's tour-course research (profiles, championship history, the tour's visits since 2017, stories, details and course changes, each with its sources). A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
