Peter Matkovich laid Mont Choisy out on the grounds of a former sugar-cane plantation in northern Mauritius, using volcanic rock formations; it bills itself as the only 18-hole championship course in the north of the island.
The local rules treat all areas of black sand as waste bunkers, and an arboretum walled in stone between the 14th and 16th holes is out of bounds.

The club stands on the Allée des Flamboyants, the flame-tree walkway into the Mont Choisy estate; Matkovich said he first envisioned a course there when he walked it about 16 years before the 2022 Mauritius Open.

The par-4 9th, a dogleg with water on the approach, was the course's closing hole until the club swapped the two nines.

The fairly flat layout is exposed to the prevailing crosswinds: a left-to-right breeze affects the opening tee shot, and the stroke-index-2 2nd plays straight into the wind.

The signature par-3 15th is played from an elevated tee to an island green framed by an old, tall stone chimney.

Every value is shown as recorded in GNN's tour-course research (profiles, championship history, the tour's visits since 2017, stories, details and course changes, each with its sources). A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
