The club calls the stretch that begins at the right-to-left par-4 6th the "Bear Trap", a nod to designer Jack Nicklaus.
The uphill par-5 2nd has a single pine tree standing in the middle of the fairway that the tee shot must avoid.
The short uphill par-4 4th climbs almost 80 feet, and its green is framed by views of Mt. Rose in the Sierra Nevada.
The par-4 17th is played from a tee about 100 feet above the fairway, with Galena Creek down the left and against the green.
Nearly 10 acres of wetlands next to holes 1, 14 and 16 take the course's natural runoff.

Every value is shown as recorded in GNN's tour-course research (profiles, championship history, the tour's visits since 2017, stories, details and course changes, each with its sources). A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
The clubhouse is drawn by GNN from reference photographs; the photographs stay private.
