The National staged the Turkish Senior Open on the European Senior Tour in 1996 and 1997, the first international professional golf tournament held in Türkiye.

The Turkish Airlines Open came to the National from 30 April to 3 May 2026, and Sweden's Mikael Lindberg won by two strokes from Guido Migliozzi and Daniel Rodrigues.

A local rule gives free relief from the course's orange trees when one interferes with stance or swing, dropping at the nearest point of full relief even inside the orange-tree area.
Opened on 18 November 1994, the National was the first golf club to open in Türkiye and the first course there built to European PGA standards.
