For the Turkish Airlines Open the 16th was stretched to a 460-yard par 4 from a tee built on the roof of a villa, with a swimming pool directly below; it takes four men to carry a hand mower up the stairs.
The club names its par-3 8th "The Siren" and calls it the signature hole: inviting from the tee, but a left-side pin is a test of courage.
Peter Thomson's firm modelled the course, 200 metres from the beach, on Surrey heathland such as Sunningdale and Walton Heath; close to a million heather plants were added and the local greenkeeper trained at Surrey courses.
The club bills Carya as Europe's first and only fully illuminated golf course, playable day or night.

Every value is shown as recorded in GNN's tour-course research (profiles, championship history, the tour's visits since 2017, stories, details and course changes, each with its sources). A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
The clubhouse is drawn by GNN from reference photographs; the photographs stay private.
