Royal Greens opened in September 2017 on the Red Sea coast at King Abdullah Economic City and in 2019 hosted the first Saudi International on the European Tour.
Dustin Johnson won the Saudi International at Royal Greens twice in its three European Tour editions, in 2019 and 2021.
Architect Dave Sampson of European Golf Design routed the holes in several directions so the prevailing wind off the Red Sea plays differently from hole to hole.

The 427-yard 15th doglegs left toward a green sited very close to the beach, and the clubhouse looks out over the Red Sea.

The course is grassed throughout with Paspalum Dynasty, a salt- and heat-tolerant strain that does not discolour, so the club does not need to overseed.

Every value is shown as recorded in GNN's tour-course research (profiles, championship history, the tour's visits since 2017, stories, details and course changes, each with its sources). A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
The clubhouse is drawn by GNN from reference photographs; the photographs stay private.
