The Palm Course is nicknamed "The Cobra" for its testing layout, laid out over what was a well-kept oil palm estate; mature oil palms still line its fairways.

The 172-yard par-3 2nd, the signature hole, has a large two-tier green with a narrow front level and a steep slope that sends short shots back into unplayable rough; it was voted Most Difficult Hole in Malaysia in Golf Malaysia readers' polls, and CNNGo named the Palm the world's 6th toughest course in 2012.
In 2002 Saujana staged the World Amateur Team Championships (Eisenhower and Espirito Santo Trophies) simultaneously across both of its courses.

One Palm Course par 4 is nicknamed The Stadium Hole for the wide, deep hollow thick with palm trees along its left flank; the drive must find a small plateau short of a green with pronounced back-to-front slope.

On the long par-5 3rd, played from a very elevated tee, a wide drain crosses the fairway 100 yards short of an elevated two-tier green, deterring long hitters from going for it in two.

A downhill par 5 on the Palm Course finishes at an island green, which is only visible from the left side of the fairway past trees on the right.

Both Saujana courses are endorsed by the R&A as host venues; the club has staged Final Qualifying Asia for The Open three times, as well as nine Malaysian Opens.

Every value is shown as recorded in GNN's tour-course research (profiles, championship history, the tour's visits since 2017, stories, details and course changes, each with its sources). A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
