From 1994 the first two rounds were split between the TPC and Cottonwood Valley courses because North Texas spring storms kept delaying the event.

The original Bob Jones Jr. course played nine holes on each side of MacArthur Boulevard; after the 1985 Nelson the east nine was reshaped into the TPC and the west nine became part of Cottonwood Valley.
Lanny Wadkins recalled that the first green of the original Las Colinas layout, on which the 1983-85 Nelsons were played, was built in the shape of Texas.
Jay Morrish designed the TPC course with Ben Crenshaw and Byron Nelson as player consultants; D.A. Weibring and Steve Wolfard redesigned it in 2008, lengthening holes and rebuilding the 18th, to 7,166 yards at par 70.

Every value is shown as recorded in GNN's tour-course research (profiles, championship history, the tour's visits since 2017, stories, details and course changes, each with its sources). A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
