The shortest par 4 on the Straits, No. 6, is called Gremlin's Ear and is defended by a deep sod-walled bunker.
The par-5 11th, the longest par 5 on the property, is named Sand Box for the railroad-tie-lined bunker hugging the left of the fairway.
The par-3 17th is called Pinched Nerve; the club says standing on its tee explains why your neck might stiffen.
The par-4 18th, the course's second-hardest hole by handicap, is named Dyeabolical after its designer Pete Dye.
The Straits runs along two miles of Lake Michigan shoreline; the par-4 13th, Cliff Hanger, has its green on the cliff edge above the lake.

Every value is shown as recorded in GNN's tour-course research (profiles, championship history, the tour's visits since 2017, stories, details and course changes, each with its sources). A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. The light in the room is the sun's real position on the last day of a recorded visit.
