Maybank Championship
Yamashita holds off Liu to defend Maybank Championship
−22. That was the winning number in Kuala Lumpur, and it left Miyu Yamashita two strokes clear of Yan Liu with her Maybank Championship title still hers.
[Miyu Yamashita](/players/miyu-yamashita/) successfully defended her title on Sunday, finishing at −22 on the West Course at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club, ESPN reported. She shot 65, 66, 67 and 68, so every round was in the 60s.
Liu made it a chase. She trailed by six strokes after two rounds, then shot a 63 on Saturday to cut that to two. On Sunday both players shot 68, and the two-stroke gap held. Marisa Tojai and Pauline Roussin-Bouchard tied for third at −19, one behind Liu.
Yamashita finished 22 under, two clear.
GNN lists Yamashita's [2025 Maybank Championship](/year-in-review/2025/maybank-championship-2025/) win, and her AIG Women's Open win the same year.
Same event, same winner, two strokes to spare.
