The GNN Desk

The GNN Desk is the byline on Golf Network News's news stories, tournament results and weekly recaps on The Desk.

Who writes it

The Desk is George, who runs Golf Network News as its editor, working with AI writing tools. There is no separate newsroom.

How a story is made

  1. A story starts from one published report: a tour's or a championship's own, or a news outlet's. The story links that report at the top and at the bottom.
  2. A writing workflow drafts a short story from that report, adding context from GNN's own records: the player cards, the championship rooms and Year in Review. It uses only facts the report or those records give. No quotes are invented or paraphrased.
  3. George reads and approves every story before it publishes. Nothing is published without that approval.
  4. An approved story is built into its page, with its card, and appears on The Desk.

Sources

Every fact in a story comes from a named source: the report the story starts from, or a GNN record that names its own sources. GNN does not republish or reword other outlets' articles or reviews, and does not take payment for coverage. The full rules are in the editorial policy.

Corrections

If something in a story is wrong, email networkgolfnews@gmail.com with the page link and what's wrong. GNN checks it against the source, fixes it and updates the page's date; a significant correction gets a note at the end of the story saying what changed and when. See the corrections policy.
