What happened at the 1949 Masters

Snead was the first Masters champion to be awarded a green jacket at the tournament; earlier winners received theirs retroactively.

Snead closed with back-to-back 67s to win by three, and later that year became the first player to win the Masters and PGA Championship in the same year.
