What happened at the 1999 PGA Championship

Sergio Garcia, 19, slashed an open-faced six-iron from against the tree roots on 16 with his eyes closed and chased it up the fairway.

Woods, who had led by five, saved par on 17 with an eight-foot putt after flying his tee shot over the green, which SI called the key shot of the tournament.
