What happened at the 1924 Amateur Championship
Semi-final: Wethered needed two putts on the 15th to go 2 up with 3 to play, took three, sliced out of bounds at the 16th, lost the 17th and the 18th; Storey won 2 up
Final: Storey (Cambridge captain, in his first championship) was 4 up at the 11th and 1 up at lunch; Holderness ground him down and closed it out 3 & 2 at the 34th after his approach to the 16th struck a spectator and kicked onto the green
Semifinal, Eustace Storey v Roger Wethered, 2 up. Wethered three-putted the 15th when two putts would have made him 2 up with 3 to play, drove out of bounds at the 16th and lost the last three holes
