What happened at the 2010 Open Championship

At the 12th in the final round Paul Casey made triple bogey while Oosthuizen birdied, which effectively settled the Championship.

Rory McIlroy opened with a record-tying 63, then shot 80 in Friday's gale-force winds.

Paul Casey, Oosthuizen's closest challenger, drove into gorse at the 12th and made a double bogey (R&A figure; AP and Golf Compendium say triple), which AP says "effectively ended" the Open.
