What happened at the 1969 Women’s Amateur

One up with one to play in their semi-final, Dinah Oxley followed Ann Irvin into a greenside bunker at the 18th, topped her recovery and missed a short putt, then hooked into deep rough at the 19th and lost.

In the final Catherine Lacoste's third shot to the 10th struck a woman spectator's shoulder, bounced into the middle of the green and she holed from 15 feet to win a hole she had seemed certain to lose.

Final, Catherine Lacoste v. Ann Irvin. Three down after three holes, Lacoste won the 10th when her wayward third shot bounced off a spectator's shoulder onto the green and she holed from 15 feet, then hit a No. 6 iron to three feet for a birdie 2 at the 12th and won by one hole.
