What happened at the 1970 Women’s Amateur

All square on the 17th tee of the final, Dinah Oxley was bunkered from the tee at the 18th but chipped from 30 yards to four feet while Belle Robertson played sideways from a bunker, and Oxley holed to win by one hole.

Belle Robertson won six consecutive holes from the 5th to beat Mary McKenna 6 and 5 in the semi-finals, out in 35.

Final, Dinah Oxley v. Belle Robertson. Two down with eight to play, Robertson squared by the 17th tee, but at the 18th she played sideways from a bunker while Oxley chipped from 30 yards to four feet and holed for a one-hole win.
