What happened at the 1973 Open Championship
Gene Sarazen, aged 71, holed in one with a 5-iron at the 8th (the Postage Stamp) in his farewell Open, and the next day holed from a bunker there for a 2.
Weiskopf led wire-to-wire, making three birdies in the first 11 holes of his closing round, and his 276 equalled Arnold Palmer's Open record set at Troon.
Weiskopf led wire to wire and won by three, and no source names a deciding hole.

Every value is shown as recorded in GNN's The Open data. A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. Where sources disagree, the organizer's own record is used.
