What happened at the 1992 Open Championship
Two behind John Cook with four holes to play, Faldo hit a "half 5-iron" to 3 feet at the 15th for a birdie.
Cook missed a birdie putt of under 3 feet at the par-5 17th and bogeyed the 18th, and Faldo two-putted from 25 feet at the last to win.
After Faldo's birdies at the 15th and 17th, John Cook (playing ahead) saw his approach at the 18th finish under a police barricade right of the green and bogeyed, which SI calls "the final swing," leaving Faldo a par to win.
