What happened at the 1978 U.S. Women's Open
Sally Little shot a final-round 65, the lowest round in the championship's history to that point, to tie for second.
Through two rain delays and five final-round lead changes, Hollis Stacy holed a four-foot par putt on the 72nd green to beat Little and JoAnne Carner by one.
How this was built
Every value is shown as recorded in GNN's U.S. Women's Open data. A value no source confirmed is left out; nothing is estimated. Where sources disagree, the organizer's own record is used.
