How this was built

Every champion, score and venue comes from GNN's research of the eight majors (394 event-years, 384 played, 324 of them majors), each value with its own source. The moments on the holes of Mission Hills come from a separate run that places a moment only where a source names the hole; the leaps are the ones a source records. The pond, the holes and the greens are OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL); the 18th green is drawn at the end of its hole line, because OpenStreetMap maps only three greens there. The palms, flowers, mountains, lake and houses are painted, not mapped. The light is the sun's position on the afternoon of each year's final round.
